Custom Chess
Chess Engine in Python that uses Bitboard Architecture to manage, evaluate, and play custom chess games with up to 16x16 boards and custom pieces. The move suggestion approach leverages a mix of personal and publicly-available ideas including Principle Variation Search, Quiescent Search, Zobrist Hashing for transposition handling, and bitboard architecture to manage the game state. The front-end web deployment of this bot is being built currently.

Prediction Market Trading
Over the past 6 months, I've learned how to provide liquidity on prediction markets, and have generated around $35k USD in net profit with automated trading strategies. My strategies are generally event-resolution agnostic 2-way market making approaches that provide liquidity and profit from a bid-ask spread, or inter-exchange arbitrage between Kalshi and Polymarket. I also do informed speculation betting based on fundamental opinions. You can view my trading activity on Polymarket here, since it's public anyways!

Not open source, in-progress, this is a comprehensive language learning toolkit that strips multilingual subtitles from videos and displays them in real time. Users can choose to reveal and obscure their native language subtitles by hovering over the text to unblur it. The software interfaces with multilingual dictionaries for single word definitions and openAI for explanations of complex grammar structures. Users can also create sentence flashcards compatible with the open source flashcard software Anki.

My Career Journey
B.S. Mathematics

- I knew leaving high school that I wanted to leverage my math skills in my career, ultimately deciding to become an actuary
- I got to study some pretty awesome things. I was primarily interested in Complex Analysis, particularly the integration superpowers it unlocks. But I also focused on probability theory because I needed a job!
- In college I was involved in the Quant Finance, Actuarial Science, and Recreational Mathematics clubs
- Some of my most relevant courses today are: Advanced Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Stochastic Processes and Probability Theory

- My first role out of college, I returned after interning to start my career here
- COVID defined the course of my tenure at UHG, and ultimately sowed the seeds for my career change. I was able to work on innovative modeling that helped the organization navigate the switfly changing post-COVID world.
- Having worked on and led some of these modeling projects. I grew increasingly interested in data science and technical work.
- I also attained my Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) credential during this time, which required over 1000 hours of independent study.

- I decided to take a leap of faith and go back to school to pivot to computer science, I was fortunate enough to be admitted into the great MCIT program at the University of Pennsylvania.
- Throughout my time here, I've focused primarily on AI/ML and data science, but have also established a robust core of CS fundamental skills.
- So far, my favorite courses have been Computer Systems (particularly learning about the different abstraction bridges from carry us from transistor physics to modern computers), and Natural Language Processing (because AI sounds cool, but actually is cool).
Quantitative Trading Intern
Susquehanna International Group
- Having applied for internships before starting my degree, I landed a role as a quant trading intern at SIG.
- Throughout my 10 weeks there, I took part in rigorous classes and mock trading sessions that tought me a great deal about the quantitative finance space
- I worked on the trading floor on the fixed income team, developing a model that predicts bond liquidity based on their historical data using Python/Pandas.
- My experience here truly solidified software engineering as an interest of mine, and made me much more interested in financial markets as a whole.
What's next?
Start up? Quant Trading? Machine Learning?
- We'll see what happens! I want to give each of these areas an honest assessment and make the best decision for myself
- Ultimately, my ambition is to find a career that I'm both passionate about and I'm proud of. I'm very interested in AI and how we can use it to improve the lives of people globally.
- Right now, I'm building a piece of language learing software that I think can revolutionize independent language study for serious learners. This is my main hustle right now alongside school. So far, I've really enjoyed designing and building something that I think can be genuinely useful for people.
